The Swamp House and MoreWhat do a concrete tree house, an orange-and-blue house, and a clear glass house that lights like a nightclub, have in common? Absolutely nothing, except that they all have the neighbors saying "What's with
that house?" The concrete tree house was built by the homeowner's father, architect Don Singer, and includes a wide-open floor plan with the kitchen plopped right in the middle of it. The second house is located in Atlanta, but is decked out in Florida colors and nicknamed "The Swamp," after the homeowner's favorite college team. There's even a football field painted on the roof! The last place is in an artsy old neighborhood in Austin, Texas. The ultramodern glass house, designed by owner and architect Thomas Bercy, really shows its colors at night, when backlit panels of colored acrylic highlight the sleek interiors.
