Eyeball House and More
Ever see a castle in Texas? In one of the most upscale neighborhoods of Austin, an aspiring king named Steve Miller decided to take the expression "everyman's home is his castle" to the extreme, converting a plain ranch house into an elegant two-story, two-turret, castle. Perhaps even stranger than that is an ultramodern arch-shaped house in that bastion of traditionalism, Salt Lake City. It would fit right in among the airplane hangers at the airport or even on a shelf of breadboxes at a discount houseware store. Last up is a Woodland Hills, Calif., house that features a four-story eyeball-covered tower with spiky roof.
