Cory Copeland, a Louisiana native, attended Northeast Louisiana University, where he was a member of the 1987 I-AA National Championship Football team. After a brief stint as a reporter, he worked for Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant. Ten years ago, he moved to New York City and found his way into the television commercial world. During this time, he began to learn carpentry and started doing home renovation for friends and family, which evolved into work as an all-around handyman for clients.
In addition, he has started learning the craft of furniture building and considers it one of his favorite pastimes. As a big proponent of green building and eco-friendly design, the majority of his furniture projects involve reclaimed timbers or salvaging trees downed in storms and turning them into lumber.
He is an avid dog lover and has trained dogs for obedience and for television. His Jack Russell has been in several national commercials for Home Depot, Roomba and American Express. In addition, he volunteers at a foster home for the New York Aussie Rescue & Helpline, where he rehabilitates dogs to get them ready for a new permanent adoptive home.
