My First Place

The Good, The Bad, The Really Funny

(Continued from Page 3)
"I'm 22 years old, a mother of a 2-year-old and just got married this April. My husband and I decided to move from Orange County, Caliornia., to Denver, Colorado, for cheaper living and a great job offer. All we brought with us were two cars packed as tight as possible—and the three of us. We found an apartment outside of Denver on the first day and just made do with the basics--a bed for my daughter, a futon and an entertainment center for the living room, a desk for the study and a plain mattress for us. Moving 1,500 miles with only the things that fit in our cars was a challenge! But now we're moving up. We just bought our first house, which is being built right now and should be finished in December. There is not a better or worse feeling than buying your first home. It's scary and exciting all at the same time. I cried when I signed the contract for our house. I think it was the most emotional experience I have ever had. Just to walk through the door on December 23 and to know it's mine (and 80 percent the bank's) will be awesome."
