Designer Monica Pedersen, host of HGTV's Kitchens and Baths 2008, has lived most of her life in the world of home repair and remodeling. As a young girl, this self-taught designer spent her spare time helping her parents rehab houses. She absorbed all of her father's handyman skills as well as her mother's talents with a sewing machine.

When she wasn't framing out a room or hanging drywall, Pedersen was traveling the world as a top model and successful commercial actress. Her passion and history of designing on a budget makes her a perfect addition to the HGTV family.
