When guests come over they can pull up a chair at the wavy, granite-topped island. "One of the things that was really important to me was having a curved countertop where everybody's sitting," says the homeowner. "The angles really have a subliminal effect on people to get them more interactive with each other." The curve of the granite countertop is repeated in the soffit of the ceiling.
