Textured Breakfast Room

The homeowners decided to take the crackle finish in the kitchen and continue it in the breakfast room. To get the texture on the walls they were first painted burgundy. Then a type of sizing agent was applied on top, followed by a layer of plaster. As the sizing agent dries, cracks appear in the plaster. The ceiling also has a unique textured look; it is covered in paper that has a leather-look, faux-alligator skin.
