When homeowners Connie and Jim Hughes remodeled their home, the biggest change they made was their power source. On the roof of their house are a series of solar panels that generate 9.9 kilowatt hours of electricity. That is enough to cover 60 to 70 percent of the electrical use in their home.

One of the best ways to enjoy that new solar power is in their new high-end kitchen. The homeowners even had a television built right into the kitchen island. A small table sits across from the island so the homeowners can enjoy a little TV dinner.
