Steve Watson was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tenn., the son of a bar owner and an ultra-cool mom. As a teenager, Watson learned a little something about swinging a hammer. While working part-time doing construction, he learned the tools of the trade that would keep him fed while pursuing a career in entertainment. Later, he started his own remodeling business, focusing on residential home improvement.
Basing himself on the East coast, Watson worked steadily in the mid '90s. He worked with legendary actor Carroll O' Connor in the CBS drama
In the Heat of the Night and starred opposite Emmy award winner Sharon Gless in the MOW
Separated By Murder. Other television credits include
To Dance with the White Dog with Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn,
The Hazel Brannon Story with Jane Seymour, and the TNT Civil War drama
Return to Andersonville.
In 1998, Watson relocated to Los Angeles and focused on stand-up comedy. He has performed at all of the major comedy clubs including The Improv, The Ice House and The Comedy Store. He also spent four seasons as the host of Discovery Channel's
Monster House and currently hosts HGTV's
Don't Sweat It.
