Joe Washington

Nationally-known television personality Joe Washington has hosted HGTV's Ground Breakers residential landscaping program since 2001. Prior to his work at HGTV, he hosted WTBS' interact.Atlanta which received a number of awards, including the National Broadcasting Association's "Best Public Affairs Show" in 1997.This veteran broadcaster also served as primetime sports anchor at NBC's WXIA-TV in Atlanta and specialized in coverage of high-school athletic events. During his stint at the station, Joe garnered three Southeast Regional Emmy awards. He also handled news anchoring and reporting for the station, calling on his experience in that arena from his days at Seattle's KOMO-TV and KMGH-TV in Denver.

As a single father of two sons, Joe is a participating parent who's involved in his children's academic and athletic pursuits. His own personal interests range from woodworking and cooking to just sitting back and reading a good book.
