This high-spirited, how-to hipster from the Midwest took a dream and a passion for all things creative and created a TV series that's fresh, playful and unpredictable?all from the comfort of her own home. After spending 10 years of her professional life learning everything there is to know about broadcast television at the FOX affiliate in Des Moines, Beschen decided it was time to put that knowledge to the test and create something of her own.
Her experience and enthusiasm for the business enabled her to pitch a joint arrangement with the station, sell it out within two days of client calls, and launch Michele Beschen's Courage to Create in February 2003. A year later, she formed 2 Chics and a Camera Productions, brought her fellow creative cohort Elisabeth Ballstadt into the picture, and they've been rockin' and rollin' with their one-size-fits-all creative entertainment ever since!
Michele has made it her mission to inspire others to "b creative." She builds, she sews, she designs, she bakes, and she makes it all in vogue. She has the amazing ability to look at things differently and create something incredible out of nothing. If you want to paint something with mustard to get that beautiful, golden color, she says go for it!
With a taste for the eclectic and a passion for the unconventional, Beschen likes to stir things up and put her own creative twist on her DIY Network show. After all, hardware washers can make beautiful jewelry, fishing supplies can prove quite useful in the whole decorating scheme of things and if you're going to build your own outdoor line of furniture, it's only natural that you upholster it with grass!
