If you need to drill a lot of different sized holes in thin metal, a step drill bit is just the tool. Each bit usually has between six and 13 stages. The dimensions are written along the center of the gauge. A step bit is also handy for enlarging an existing hole.

Remember to always wear proper eye protection and gloves when working with a drill or other power tool.
