Make expensive wallpaper designs go further by cutting portions of them to make interesting wall or door treatments.

Use trompe l'oeil wallpaper with a book print to create a dramatic bookcase on a flat wall.
Wallpaper Panels

Materials:

roll of wallpaper
coordinating border
application tools (wallpaper tray for water or brush and paste)
pencil
metal ruler
level
scissors
craft knife
paint
paintbrushes/rollers

Steps:

1. Paint wall in desired color and let dry.

2. Measure and mark the panels to desired height and the width of the wallpaper roll using a level. Cut wallpaper.

3. Apply wallpaper panel following manufacturer's instructions. Let dry.

4. Measure and cut border to fit around entire panel and apply as above.Let dry .

Black and White Prints

Materials:

roll of black and white print room wallpaper with isolated images
application tools (wallpaper tray for water or brush and paste)
pencil
metal ruler
level
scissors
craft knife

Steps:

1. Cut separate images out and cut border pieces as needed.

2. Apply wallpaper pieces following manufacturer's instructions. Let dry.

3. Apply border images as above and let dry.

Bookcase Wallpaper Treatment

Materials:

book wallpaper
decorative wood molding
application tools (wallpaper tray for water or brush and paste)
pencil
metal ruler
level
scissors
craft knife
paint or stain
paintbrush
hammer
finish nails or hot glue gun

Steps :

1. Cut bookcase paper to desired height and apply according to manufacturer's instructions . Let dry.

2. Cut molding to create a border around the paper and paint or stain as desired . Let dry.

3. Nail or glue molding in place. Let dry.
