Video: Taking inspiration from the baseball-themed bathroom, Matt Fox made a towel bar using wood instead of a real bat with similar results.

Materials:

1" x 6" pine board
pencil
jigsaw
sandpaper or palm sander
drill and spade bit
four pegs
paint or stain
baseball
screws
wood glue

Steps:

  1. Draw design onto the pine (it can be to scale or more stylized). Cut it out using a jigsaw and be sure to take your time. Sand the edges until smooth and rounded.
  2. Drill four holes along the length of the bat for towel pegs using a spade bit that matches the size of the pegs but don't drill all the way through the wood.
  3. Stain or paint the pieces as desired.
  4. Once dry, drill a small hole into one end of the bat and a matching hole into a baseball. Attach the ball to the bat from behind with a long screw.
  5. Screw the bat to the wall through the peg holes, and then glue the pegs in place.
