Materials:
handmade papers and tissue paper (brown tissue, white, beige, brown and gray handmade paper)
leaf skeletons in various colors
decorative wood trim
satin latex base coat paint
roller/roller cover
painter's tape
long level or straightedge
spray adhesive
particle mask or respirator
nail gun
Steps:
- Tape-off walls at the point where the border will begin. Apply two coats of paint below it, allowing it to dry between layers.
- While the second coat is drying, gather a variety of papers and work with a few layering options. Take snapshots of the designs for reference.
- Mount the first base papers by lightly spraying adhesive on the wall. Carefully attach the paper and smooth it as needed. The adhesive allows you to reposition the paper if necessary. Be sure to ventilate the room when using it and wearing a particle mask or respirator is a good idea to prevent inhaling the glue suspended in the air. Don't allow children or pets in the area until it's aired out.
- Attach the rest of the layers by spraying the pieces on the back and adding them as desired.
- Once the design is complete, nail a piece of trim between the border and wall paint.
