Create interest on a wall with love letters, poetry or drawings with a timeworn look.
Materials:

old handwritten love letters, family letters or copyright-free historical letters
wallpaper brush or brayer
orange shellac
decoupage glue or wallpaper adhesive
straightedge

Steps:

  1. Make multiple copies of letters and envelopes. Tear the edges off with a straightedge for a worn look.
  2. Use decoupage glue or wallpaper adhesive to attach the pieces to the wall as desired. Smooth wrinkles and bubbles with a wallpaper brush or brayer. Allow to dry .
  3. Apply a coat of orange shellac to give the wall an aged look.

Tips:

  • Enlarge a child's drawings for this technique in their room.
  • Use sheets of handwritten poetry for a study or library.
