Using mild strength, strike the driver head with the rubber mallet. This causes the nailer to shoot a nail into floor. Some pneumatic floor nailers use staples and some use L or T-shaped cleats. Cleats require more air pressure than the staples because the staples are often thinner. Before starting on the actual floor, test the air pressure by driving a few nails on a scrap piece.
