Playing on a level field is great, but getting a field or anything else level isn't exactly a day in the park. There are a lot of choices out there when it comes to choosing a level.

Torpedo Level This level gets its name from the curved ends. If you're only going to have one level in your toolbox, then the torpedo level is the one you want. At six to eight inches long, this level is handy, easy to use and easy to store.

Carpenter's Level One of the most versatile levels is the 48-inch carpenter's level. The long length means it will give a very accurate reading.

String Level The string level has just one bubble and is used for long surfaces like foundations and patios.

Combination Square This level is a good tool when you need to make sure an angle is level and square.

Specialty Levels For decks or fence posts, you can use specialty levels that attach to the posts.

Water Level A water level is used for making sure a corner angle is level.

Laser Level This level projects a visible beam onto a wall, making it a good choice when you need some extra reach.
