Figure A--These incredible wood panels are doors from an old art-deco theater that was torn down. The panels open into other living areas. The owner, Doug Regen, had only 24 hours to get everything he could from the theater before it was brought to the ground.

Figure B--When it came time to add a second story to the house, no ordinary staircase would do. Some friends of the owner remarked that they were getting ready to tear out an old staircase and replace it with something more modern. This staircase--which originally ran straight--dates to around 1910, so Regen immediately traveled to his friend's home and dismantled the staircase piece by piece.

Figure C--Regen wanted the look of milk glass in his kitchen, but none was available. As an alternative, he photocopied an existing piece of milk glass, then decoupaged the color copies into the existing cabinets. He finished it by covering it with varnish.
