When he was but 14-years-old, John Saladino visited Santa Barbara with his parents and promised himself that one day he would return. Now the native New Yorker calls a 2,500-square-foot retreat in Montecito his second home. An interior designer, Saladino has paid particular attention to the colors both inside and outside his home. The exterior is painted a soft taupe to better blend in with the beautiful outdoor gardens.

Inside the walls are painted a lustrous pearl along with white, lavender and Saladino's signature color, periwinkle blue. Mexican pavers help blend the indoor and outdoor spaces, making the house feel larger than it is.
