For four years Anne and Bob Smith enjoyed a summerhouse in Santa Barbara, but eventually tired of their children asking why they had to head back east just in time for winter . So in 1991 they moved to sunny Southern California for good, where they've made a 1927 Spanish Revival house their permanent home.
