Dream Builders : Episode DRB-1213 -- More Projects »
Evergreen House is an impressive Italianate home in Baltimore was owned by one of the country’s early railroad magnates, John Work Garrett. The house later passed to Garrett’s grandson, a career diplomat and former U.S. ambassador to Italy, who expanded the home and added a private theatre. He also filled it with fine art, rare books and antiques from his overseas travels. In 1942, the Garretts donated the house to Johns Hopkins University and today it is open to the public for tours.
