Mystery House: Villa Louis
Dream Builders : Episode DRB-1206 -- More Projects » This house in Prairie du Chien Wisconsin was among the first to bring British design to the great American frontier. Villa Louis was built in 1870 by a prosperous Wisconsin family. The Victorian home is decorated in the British arts and crafts style, a bright contrast to the homes typically built in 19th century Wisconsin. Today, the interior looks much like it did in the 1880s. The home is decorated with 22 colors and includes the family’s original furniture. The Wisconsin History Society currently owns Villa Louis.
