Craik-Patton House

Dream Builders : Episode DRB-907 -- More Projects »
James Craik built the Roman Revival wood-frame Craik-Patton House in Charleston, West Virginia, in 1834. Craik was the grandson of Dr. James Craik, the Surgeon General of the Continental Army and personal physician and friend to George Washington. The front pediment is an outstanding example of a simple Roman Doric design. In 1858 the house was sold to Colonel George S. Patton, who was the grandfather of General Patton of World War II fame. The Craik-Patton House is open to the public
