By the 1960s, a new type of cowboy could be found in Colorado: The cable television cowboy. Bill Daniels led the posse, owning and operating hundreds of cable television systems in nearly every state. Daniels spent part of his fortune on his amazing home, a high-tech fantasy complete with 88 televisions and 97 telephones.

Daniels was also a generous philanthropist who supported many charities and community projects. He donated his $7 million, 24,000-square-feet home to the City of Denver for use in fundraising events for non-profit groups. The house also serves as the official residence of the mayor of Denver.
