Hiwan Homestead
Evergreen, Colo., is situated in the mountains right above Denver. It was the perfect escape from the crowds and heat of the big city in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The rustic masterpiece was the dream lodge of Dr. Jo Douglas. Hiwan Homestead features several octagon-shaped towers and is a hidden jewel of a mountain retreat.
