Virtual Makeover

Landscape designer Georgia Madden creates a more dramatic impression for the renovated duplex with a virtual makeover.

She replaces the secondary door with modern windows that match the existing ones and extends the square pavers from the entry courtyard all the way out to the curb.

She minimizes the large plane of the garage door by putting in a bank of rectangular windows, repeating the pattern of the windows on the home. Madden adds a row of cannes along the edge of the yard between the driveway and the neighbor's property.

Finally, she paints the whole house a steel-blue gray to complement the international orange on the windows.
