Steps:

1. Have a friend dry fit sink and pedestal together and hold it in position against the wall in desired location. Mark the contoured outline of the back of the sink on the wall with a pencil (figure A).

2. Carefully drill a hole just through the drywall and use the utility knife to gradually expand the hole. Do not just drill into the wall carelessly, as there could be pipes behind the wall.

3. Expand the hole until it's large enough for the support. Use the keyhole saw to cut away drywall.

4. Measure how big supports need to be and cut 2x4 to support size.

5. Attach supports to studs using screws inserted at an angle into wall studs (figure B).

6. Measure drywall opening and cut and mount new piece of drywall to cover hole (figure C).

7. Fill in screw holes with drywall mud, run mesh tape along seams and apply drywall mud along seams.

8. Install faucet onto sink before mounting sink into position.

9. Secure brackets to the 2x4 support beams with lag screws (figure D). Drill holes through drywall for butterfly bolts that will snug the sink against the wall.

10. Lower sink into position and hook up drain and water supply lines.

11. Turn on supply lines, check for leaks, and try out your new sink.
