Materials:
Benjamin Moore Aqua Pearl (HC-167 Amherst Gray)
Golden Artist colors (Metallic Silver glaze, Pearl glaze, Fluid Acrylic Black)
4" mini fabric rollers (not foam )
paint trays
stencil (Forty-Second Street)
stencil paints (Metallic Black Pearl, Metallic Purple Pearl, Metallic Ice Blue, Metallic Turquoise Pearl)
medium stencil brushes
stencil tape
Steps:
1. Base-coat the surface with Amherst Gray and let dry overnight.
2. Mix one part Fluid Acrylic Black with 10 parts Metallic Silver glaze. Use a roller to apply the color in an overlapping pattern working side to side and up and down until the background is covered. Rinse out roller and tray. Let paint dry overnight .
3. Use the roller and Metallic Silver glaze to create a series of four-inch squares by first rolling down four inches, and then sideways four inches (figure A) (allow some of the background to show through around each square but don't worry if it isn 't perfect). Rinse roller and tray. Let paint dry overnight.
4. Repeat step 3 with Pearl glaze.
5. Tape stencil overlay #1 to the wall. Use a stencil brush to very lightly pounce Metallic Black over the stencil openings. Let dry and repeat process with each overlay /color. Rinse brush and let dry.
