Materials:
AquaPearl latex paint (#HC-39 Light Beige)
glaze (#53007 Lemon Yellow, #53017 Burgundy)
glazing medium (#991)
plastic or foam tray
wool sponge
brush or roller
Low-Luster Stay Clear Acrylic Finish (optional)
Steps:
- Base-coat wall surface with Light Beige and let dry. Add another coat and let dry overnight.
- Mix a one-to-five ratio of Lemon Yellow and glazing medium respectively.
- Dampen the wool sponge. Dip it into the mixture and apply an even thin wash to the whole surface with a combination of padding and rubbing. Always start light and add another layer of color to darken the wall if desired. Rinse the sponge and let the wall dry for two to three hours.
- Repeat Step 2 with the Burgundy glaze.
- Dampen the sponge and apply the mixture as above. Make it heavier in the corners , next to the ceiling and along the base molding. Rinse out the sponge.
- If extra durability is desired, sponge on a coat of acrylic finish after allowing the wall to dry for three to four hours.
