Streaks
Materials:

Radiant Pearls paint - Peacock, Fantasy Fuchsia, Summer Sun
three pouncer tools
two old compact disks (CDs)
Hammermill Via 80 weight (good absorbent paper)
paint brush
plenty of scratch paper to protect table

Steps:

  1. Cut the Hammermill paper to the size desired.
  2. Using the wooden end of the paintbrush, swipe some Radiant Pearls on the three pouncers (one color each): Peacock, Fantasy Fuchsia, and Summer Sun.
  3. Stipple the paint on the CD to distribute evenly.
  4. Hold your finger in the middle of paper, and begin streaking, starting with the darkest color and ending with the lightest color. Use this for the background paper or streak over an already embossed image to create an interesting resist over the embossed images.
Spinning Roundels
Materials:

Radiant Pearls paint - Autumn Leaf, Patina, Royal Satin, Mayan Gold
four pouncer tools
two old compact disks (CDs)
Hammermill Via 80 weight (good absorbent paper)
paint brush
plenty of scratch paper to protect table

Steps:

  1. Cut the Hammermill paper to the size desired.
  2. Using the wooden end of the paintbrush, swipe some Radiant Pearls on the three pouncers (one color each): Autumn Leaf, Patina, and Royal Satin.
  3. Stipple the paint on the CD to distribute the color evenly.
  4. Swirl or swish the paint on the paper beginning with Autumn Leaf and ending with Royal Satin.
  5. Load the last pouncer with Mayan Gold paint, and stipple the paint on the CD. Pounce the brush up and down on the paper for added texture.
  6. Use this piece as background paper or streak over an already embossed image to create an interesting resist over the embossed images.
Textures with Background Stamp
Materials:

Radiant Pearls paint - Summer Sun, Fandango Green, Royal Satin and Eggplant
Stampendous Marbling Cube - TC01
three stipple brushes
two old compact disks (CDs)
Hammermill Via 80 weight (good absorbent paper)
plenty of scratch paper to protect table

Steps:

  1. Cut the Hammermill paper to the size desired.
  2. Using the wooden end of the stipple brush, dip into the Radiant Pearls colors Summer Sun, Fandango Green, Eggplant and Royal Satin.
  3. Stipple the paint on the CD to distribute the Radiant Pearls evenly.
  4. Brush the paint directly to the rubber surface of the stamp.
  5. Start with side B, painting with the lightest color, Summer Sun, and stamp the color on paper.
  6. Next, paint on side C using the next color, Fandango green, and stamp on the paper to create a pattern.
  7. Then, paint side C again with Eggplant and Royal Satin mixed together.
Stippled Backgrounds
Materials:

Radiant Pearls paint - Summer Sun, Sweet Apricot, Peaceful Poppy, Frosty Pine
four stipple brushes
two old compact disks (CDs)
yellow Hammermill Via 80 weight (good absorbent paper)
plenty of scratch paper to protect table

Steps:

  1. Cut the Hammermill paper to the size desired.
  2. Using the wooden end of the stipple brush, dip into the Radiant Pearls colors Summer Sun, Sweet Apricot, Peaceful Poppy, and Frosty Pine.
  3. Stipple the paint on the CD to distribute the colors evenly.
  4. Start stippling an interesting pattern on the paper with lightest color, Summer Sun and end with the darkest color, Frosty Pine.
Faux Paper Technique
Materials:

Radiant Pearls paint - Fandango Green, Chianti, Plum Crazy Summer Sun
four stipple brushes
two old compact disks (CDs)
Hammermill Via 80 weight (good absorbent paper)
plenty of scratch paper to protect table
triangle craft comb

Steps:

  1. Cut the Hammermill paper to the size desired.
  2. Using the wooden end of the stipple brush, dip into Radiant Pearls colors Summer Sun, Fandango Green, Plum Crazy, and Chianti.
  3. Stipple the paint on the CD to distribute the colors evenly.
  4. Start stippling an interesting pattern on the paper, beginning with the lightest color, Summer Sun and ending with the darkest, Chianti.
  5. Comb the paper with a triangle craft comb (paper paste comb) available at most craft stores. You may also use a tile setting comb available at your local hardware store.
Brayered Backgrounds
Materials:

Radiant Pearls paint - Malachite, Emerald Forest, Summer Sun, Caspian Sea, Royal Satin, Hot Magenta
Rubber Dub-Dub Small Tree stamp
white pigment ink
white detail embossing powder
heat gun
two brayer tools
two old compact disks (CDs)
Hammermill Via 80 weight (good absorbent paper)
paint brush or stipple brushes
plenty of scratch paper to protect table

Steps:

  1. Cut the Hammermill paper to the size desired.
  2. Apply the white pigment ink to the stamp, and press the stamp on the paper.
  3. Coat the stamped image with detail, white embossing powder, and use the gun to heat set the powder.
  4. Using the wooden end of the paint brush or stipple brush, apply Radiant Pearls colors on two CD in the following order: for the first CD, Malachite, Emerald Forest, and Summer Sun; for the second CD, Caspian Sea, Royal Satin, and Hot Magenta.
  5. Run the brayer over the first CD, the Summer Sun should be just under the trees. Then, run the brayer over the second CD, fusing the Summer Sun, Royal Satin, and Hot Magenta in the highest end of the sky. A beautiful scene of white trees at sunset/sunrise will magically appear!
Tips:
  • Always start your project with clean tools.
  • Try using different color combinations for unique looks.
  • Use the pouncer about one inch or more from the edge, allowing the center to remain bare. The clean border provides a good bond with the adhesive.
  • Try variations of color combinations for a different look.
  • Experiment using different colored papers or textured paper to create a stunning effect.
  • Use the same technique when cleaning up CDs to make plain cardstock beautiful background paper.
