Video: Provide interest and light control with a painted shade that looks like an outer window view.
Materials:

roller window shade
latex paint (Raffia Basket SW1113, Impressionist Sky SW1205 , Bold Blue SW1782, Candleglow SW1387)
paintbrushes
white glaze (Ralph Lauren Sunfade AG01)

Steps:

1. Paint the shade with Raffia Basket and let dry.

2. Put tape where the mullions (window panes) would be and paint the curtains with Impressionist Blue and the center area with Candleglow to simulate the warm glow of lights inside. Let dry.

3. Add shading to the curtains with Bold Blue and remove the tape once dry. Add a few strokes of white glaze to the entire design for dimension and let dry (figure A).
