Painted Animal Prints

Painting this animal pattern isn't as difficult as it looks. Refer to an animal print on an article of clothing or accessory when painting the design. Figure A Figure B

Steps:

1. Apply a light tan base color on a ceramic vase.
2. Paint rounded organic shapes in a darker tan over the base color (figure A ). Either draw the shapes first with a pencil or paint freehand.
3. Once the shapes are dry, use a thin brush dipped in black paint to trace the shapes. Add small dots in between the shapes to finish the pattern (figure B).
4. Finish with a clear gloss glaze.
