Neo-Classical Wall Decor

Add an elegant touch to any room with gilded leaves attached to a branch.

long, sturdy branch
fresh or dried flat leaves with stems (magnolia, oak, bay , fig, etc.)
metallic gold paint
paintbrush
thin gold wire
needle-nose pliers with wire cutter
1/4" foam core board
stylus or empty pen
craft knife
pencil
cutting mat
hot glue gun
gold wired ribbon

Steps:

1. Paint twig, a circle of foam core for a medallion and both sides of the leaves gold and let dry.

2. Wrap leaf stems with wire for added strength and attach them where desired to the branch (be sure to overlap the stem/branch so they're solidly attached).

3. Use a stylus to make an embossed design on the medallion. Hot-glue two lengths of ribbon to the back of the medallion and glue it to the branch.
