After paint has dried, add raffia or ribbon for a final touch.
To make plain glass vases more appealing, try decorating them with paint designed especially for glass. Choose a design that complements your decor or a theme that will be used for an upcoming party...be imaginative!

Materials:

inexpensive or vase
paint - for glass
brushes of varying sizes

Steps:

  1. Rinse the inside of the vase with bleach and water to eliminate dirt and bacteria . Let the vase dry thoroughly.
  2. Choose a pattern (or design your own) and paint the outside of the vase. You can use a china marker to sketch your design onto the container.
  3. After you have completed painting the vase and it has dried, accessorize it with raffia or ribbon and fill the container with flowers. That's it.

More ideas for recycling floral vases:

  • Wrap a vase with twine beginning at the bottom and winding to the top of the vase. Use spray glue to adhere twine to glass.
  • Spray a vase with glue and roll it in sand. When it's dry, wrap a few strands of raffia around the neck of the vase, tie the threads in a knot and add a few small shells.
