Materials:
black or glass vase
black acrylic paint
glass paint medium
Pearl Ex paint pigments (Red Russet, Interference Blue and Interference Violet)
artist's paintbrush
plastic plate
natural cellulose sponges
copper leaf and sizing
necklace wire
glass beads
needle-nose pliers
Steps:
1. Use a sponge to paint glass vase black until opaque. Let dry according to directions .
2. Pour glass paint medium and small piles of metallic powdered pigments on plate . Mix some of one color with the medium using the brush; brush it onto a small area of the dry sponge, and then apply it to the vase as desired. Continue with all the colors on different areas of the sponge for a blended look and let dry.
3. Brush leaf sizing around the vase neck/opening and allow it to get tacky. Press copper leaf pieces over sizing with your fingers and brush excess off.
4. Make a loop in one end of the necklace wire with pliers and string beads on as desired. Make another loop to hold them in place and set around vase neck.
