Steps:

1. Remove old nails using the nail puller and a hammer. Take the lattice to a work area and mark the bottom for cuts. Cut the frame so the bottom is about five inches off the ground.

2. Remove the bottom piece of the frame. Use the carpenter's square to mark angles for cuts in the frame (figure A).

3. Adjust the circular saw blade depth so it cuts just through the frame and not into the latticework (figure B). Always make sure the saw is unplugged when adjusting.

4. Put on safety glasses and start cutting away on the lattice.

5. Reattach bottom section of the frame. Pre-drill pilot holes for the nails to avoid splitting the wood (figure C). Attach the frame bottom with galvanized nails.

6. Flip the lattice over and draw a line along the latticework to mark the cut. Use a straight edge or scrap piece of lumber to make a straight line.

7. Unplug and adjust the circular saw to cut through the lattice and not into the frame, then cut away excess latticework. Attach corners with screws (figure D).

8. Reinstall the lattice using galvanized nails.
