Kathy Nieto and Kathy Lyle found the best way to beat back the summer heat when entertaining outdoors in their Tucson, Ariz., home was to start with a swimming pool. They built a colorful Southwestern kitchen to create the ultimate outdoor party area.

Functional highlights include a grill, oven and a tortilla warmer handed down from Nieto's grandmother. Besides the kitchen the space features dining and sitting areas so everyone's sure to find a comfortable spot.
