Both of these pieces are window latches for double-hung windows. The top latch was manufactured in 1865 on the lower latch is from the 1930s.
More and more homeowners want to preserve the integrity of their homes down to the smallest details: door knobs, switch plates, hinges and old lighting fixtures. But where do you find a door knob for a home built in the 1920s, or a hinge for a 1950s house? The answer: antique hardware stores--and they are starting to pop up all over the country. Bartholomew travels to Liz's Antique Hardware in Los Angeles to show some of the unique hardware fixtures available.
