Use an old washboard as a cupboard door for use in any room of the home.
Materials:

washboard
scrap wood and scrap 1 x 1 wood
saw
paint
drill
wood screws
2 hinges
hook and eye assembly
cup hooks

Steps:

1. Measure the washboard since it must fit exactly over the cabinet and cut wood to the appropriate sizes. Before assembly, lay the pieces out and set the washboard on top to ensure proper alignment.

2. Paint the pieces as desired and let dry.

3. Pre-drill all holes and then glue/nail the cabinet together.

4. To add the washboard door, set the cabinet on its side. Put the washboard in place, and then attach hinges with wood screws.

5. Cut the scrap 1x1 to fit between the washboard legs as a towel bar. Attach it with wood glue first, then screws.

6. To keep the door closed, screw the hook into the middle edge of the washboard . Align the eye on the cupboard and screw it in place.

7. If desired, add cup hooks to the bottom edge.
