Salvage a kitchen cabinet door and transform it into a useful wall shelf.
Materials:

old cabinet door
rag
pencil
measuring tape
straightedge
saw
1 x 4 scrap wood
wood glue
wood screws
paintbrushes
paint or stain (optional )
drill

Steps:

1. Remove the handle but keep the hinges on to add character to the finished piece. Clean the door with a damp cloth.

2. Measure and mark the shelf placement evenly along the door.

3. Make the shelves by cutting pieces of scrap wood in squares, rectangles or triangles . To make brackets, cut wood into triangular pieces. Glue the bracket to the shelf and screw the pieces together. Repeat this process for each shelf.

4. To attach the shelves to the door, line them up on the marks made earlier. Pre-drill pilot holes through the back of the door and secure them with wood screws.

5. Paint or stain the shelf as desired.
