The Seminars

Steve Greenberg and Barbara Sloan visit some of the seminars at the Show to see what's new in 2001 lifestyle trends. Steve looks at New Trends for Seniors and looks at the "Kitchen Triever" on the show floor (for seniors). Barbara visits "What Women Want" in homes, and looks at convenience trends in the kitchen.

The Kitchen Triever helps organize your cupboards and even keeps track of your inventory.

Steve tours the Live/Work Home, a 3-in-1 house that was partly sponsored by Builder Magazine. Then, Scott Morgan goes to the show floor to look at cool tools, including Senco's new screw gun, Porter-Cable's "Tiger Saw" and Malco's "Magnetic Sweeper."

More and more tools are going cordless, such as this cordless reciprocating saw.

A rolling magnetic sweeper is great for picking up small metal objects from the ground.

Afterward, Barbara looks at GE's built-in "home/office compactor" for paper waste.

A small garbage compactor can reduce the number of times you need to empty the office wastebasket.
