Would you like to add some kitchen storage and get some a few of your cleaning utensils out of view? Try installing a storage container behind the false drawer front just below your kitchen sink.
Materials
Drill, with drill bits and a Phillips driver bit
Phillips- and flat-head screwdrivers
Pencil
False-front container kit, including hinges and containers

- Determine how the false front is attached. Most are attached with pressure clamps , screws or glue.
- Trace around the back of the false front to determine how much clearance you'll have for your container.
- Remove the existing hardware holding the false front in place.
- Dry-fit the spring-loaded mounting hinges from your container kit onto the cabinet (figure A), and drill pilot holes for the mounting screws. Secure the hinges to the cabinet with screws (figure B).
- Determine where to mount the false front by positioning a template (provided with the kit) beneath the bottom corner of the line you traced to mark the clearance (figure C). Use the template to mark the mounting holes, then drill pilot holes.
- Place the plastic container so that it fits within the line you traced to mark the clearance, and mark the mounting holes (figure D). Drill pilot holes, and screw the mounting screws into place. Leave the screw heads about 1/8" above the surface of the wood so the container will fit over them.
- Mount the false front onto the hinges. Center it, using the line you traced earlier . Open the false front, and slide the container over the mounting screws (figure E).
