These homeowners liked the basic look of their classic Cape Cod cottage, but they needed more space. The home's appearance prior to the renovations was also somewhat drab and nondescript. A stark, black roof overwhelmed the pale gray aluminum siding, and the house had few details to provide visual interest.

After

The basic style of the house has remained the same, but it now boasts more space and a brighter exterior. The interior has been expanded and reworked to better utilize existing areas, while exterior updates include cedar shingles and a textured soft gray roof. New dormers on the upper level add interest to the front of the house, along with window boxes and wood brackets that provide subtle character.
