Figures A and B--Murdock turned a dark playroom and a dilapidated deck into a two-story sunroom that brings the outdoors in and works marvelously as an entertainment area.

Figure C--To keep insects at bay while still maintaining an open space, Murdock enclosed the sunroom with glass. Part of the deck was removed to allow in more light, while polycarbonate roofing refracts some of the bright sunlight so that it's not overwhelmingly bright.

Figure D--Murdock's renovation was recognized with a design award from the American Institute of Architects, who noted the consistent flow from the sunroom out into the garden area.
