Architect Owen Jones starts his transformation of the Carusos' home by painting the trim a sage green and the sashes bright white. This change leaves the brick planter out of place, so he also paints this structure sage green. Then Jones modifies the existing front door by inserting a beveled glass panel held in molding and painted a dark green. He completes the front entry with bronze fixtures--an elongated front door latch, mounted numbers and a boxy carriage lamp.

The Caruso home is already showing improvement, and now Jones is ready to give the front area greater presence. He begins this segment by adding a protective element to the porch with a balustrade, painted white to pop out. Next he attaches custom made brackets to support two redwood window boxes, both planted with colorful flower providing a framing element for the front windows.
