Desert Showroom

Stephanie and Bud Bourassa enjoy pleasant drives through the Arizona desert in their fleet of vintage British racing cars (figure A). When Bud was about to retire, he decided he wanted a home office where he could be surrounded by his vehicular treasures.

The Bourassas have not one but several extreme garages. Daily drivers are parked in the garage next to the house, while the racing cars are displayed in a show garage. Maintenance is handled in the working two-bay service garage, which includes a hydraulic lift (figure B).

Bud's desk sits in the back of the show garage (figures C and D). The show garage also includes a living area, complete with a hidden television that rises out of an end table, and guest quarters that are complete with a kitchen and bath.
