Host Pat Simpson follows the complete remodel of a small Northern California bungalow. The homeowners needed to make changes in their one-bedroom home to suit their growing family. Architect John Britton's design took what was a cramped bachelor pad and turned it into something suitable for a family of four, including a new second floor for added bedroom space and an expanded living area on the main floor.
Britton also added an expanded kitchen and a warm family room. The main floor rooms are all larger with a bright, open layout. The stunning new exterior maintains enough of its character to fit into the neighborhood. Highlights include front and back porches and the new second story. The upstairs bedrooms feature beautiful bamboo floors.
