Homeowners Glen Galaich and Stephanie Goldsborough have the bones of a great house, with just a few problems. The home has a dark feel with a lot of overgrown foliage creeping in and both of their decks are rotting. Architect John McCoy and landscape designer Ludwig Tausche team together to bring the house into the open and give it a new style that compliments its woodland setting.
Heres how they accomplish it:
- Demolish one deck completely and rebuild the other one
- The footbridge to the entry gets replaced with a new curved bridge
- A new curved path leads to the entry
- Brick retaining wall goes in for a tidy look
- Ivy & shrubs get torn out and a new shade garden with ferns and lillies gets planted
- New painting, windows, shingle siding, and front door
- Decorative accents: pots and lighting fixtures
