In this episode, a pale-colored urban home goes from ordinary to eye-popping with lots of color, ironwork and modern artistic touches that give it a sleek, yet friendly feel.Homeowners Suzanne and Robert Glynne want their home to stand out and reflect some of their personal style. A designer by trade, Suzanne collaborates with designer Shane Reilly to create the perfect look for the home - a clean, modern style with slight touches of an Art Deco theme. The dark front entry gets transformed into a light and welcoming space, the house gets repainted in two different colors and brand new fixtures & decor tie the design together.
Here's how they accomplish it:
- remove old windows, balcony, gate and house numbers
- replace windows and install new ironwork: gate, balcony, and cage for the plum tree
- house gets painted two different shades of brown for warm tone contrasts
- concrete in entryway gets resurfaced and stained a warm color
- brand new glass front door with custom made, sandblasted hibiscus design
- lots of new fixtures and accents, including: box-shaped lights, house numbers, urns and pots, a new modern bench, and some plantings
